Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes this practice different from other medical practices?

We prioritize quality over quantity by limiting the number of patients we accept. This allows us to dedicate more time to each patient’s care, with comprehensive consultations and assessments. Our lead physician, Dr. Kandalaft, has an exceptional track record for diagnosing and treating rare conditions, ensuring that no symptoms go unexplained and no referrals are made without careful consideration. Dr. Kandalaft is deeply committed to his patients, treating each one with the same care and compassion as he would a family member.

  • What towns are currently being serviced?

    Guilford

    Madison

    Clinton

    Westbrook

    Essex

  • Do you accept health insurance for at-home appointments?

Baiti Medical Clinic does not accept health insurance for at-home appointments as it is a boutique-style clinic offering luxury services. All appointments are scheduled online and credit card information must be provided prior to service.

  • Do you accept HSA/FSA?

Yes. Baiti Medical is a direct-pay practice, and most patients may use their HSA or FSA card to pay for medical visits. We provide itemized receipts that meet reimbursement requirements, and you may use your HSA/FSA debit card at checkout or submit your receipt for reimbursement through your plan.

  • Your providers are out-of-network — can I still use my insurance for other health services?

Yes. Even though Baiti Medical operates outside of insurance and is considered out-of-network, you can still use your insurance for any services performed outside of our practice, such as:

    Specialist visits

Labs or imaging performed at outside facilities

Emergency room or urgent care visits

    Hospitalizations

Prescription medications (depending on your plan)

Coverage depends on your specific plan and benefits, but most pharmacies and diagnostic centers will run these services through your insurance as usual. You may be responsible for copays, deductibles, or non-covered services, but being seen by an out-of-network provider does not automatically prevent insurance from covering these external services.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

All visits can be scheduled up to the day before via the online booking platform.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911.

  • What services are currently unavailable for home visits?

The following at home services are unavailable at this time:

    • Vaccinations
    • Emergency care
    • X-rays and advanced imaging
    • Bloodwork
    • Digital rectal exams, breast exams, and gynecological examinations
    • Pediatrics and other specialized fields
  • Can I have someone present with me for my appointment?

Yes, we encourage all our patients to have someone they trust present during their appointments to ensure they feel comfortable and supported. If you do not bring a chaperone, a member of our team may join the session as a chaperone to maintain transparency and comfort. Please ensure that anyone you bring with you is someone you feel comfortable having in the room for discussions involving private health information or during the provision of medical care.

  • Why do we ask for your insurance information if our visits are self-pay?

Although Baiti Medical operates as a private, direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance for our visits, we request your insurance information to help coordinate your care when needed. This allows us to send prescriptions to your preferred pharmacy, order labs or imaging, and assist with prior authorizations when required. Your insurance may still help cover medications, lab work, or diagnostic studies independently of our visit fee — so keeping your insurance on file helps streamline these steps for you.
